Introduction to Permablitz Design

Create a permaculture design for Tufnell Park Woodland Garden

10 x weekly sessions:
Wednesday 2nd September - Wednesday 4th November
6.30pm-8.30pm

This is a free course led by Guy Davidesko and Danni Haughan and assisted by Jo Syz (Permaculture Design Certificate holders)

This course will be run as a collaboration between Permablitz London and Octopus Community Network. The training has been developed by Permablitz London.

The training will introduce participants to permaculture design through a practical, hands-on learning approach: working together in groups you will prepare a design for the forest garden and then implement it through a series of permablitzes. The ten sessions will cover:

  • creating a design that fulfils the permaculture ethics

  • learning how to survey the forest garden area and create a base map

  • interviewing volunteers and staff to establish the aims for the design

  • researching the plants to use

  • creating a planting layout

  • producing a budget

  • drawing up an implementation plan and timetable for the permablitz

The aim of this course is to increase the diversity of plants in the forest garden to provide a yield for volunteers and to create an outdoor classroom for all ages to teach about the permaculture design, the plants and about the wildlife the area will support.
