At this permablitz we will be setting up the permaculture garden for the summer: planting seeds for flowers for pollinators, supporting the soil-food-web by applying aerated compost teas and setting up wildlife habitats for pollinating insects at Cecil Sharp House including hoverfly lagoons, earwig hotels and bee hotels. We'll also do a bug hunt to identify insects in the garden and log them into iNaturalist as part of the Capital Growth Big Bug Hunt.
Mini workshops include:
What is the difference between bees, wasps and hoverflies?
Which bees use a bee hotel?
How to make aerated compost tea and what are its benefits
How to use iNaturalist to document wildlife in your garden
RSVP Essential: if you want to come along you need to let Permablitz London know so we know numbers for lunch, which is provided and so we can give you all the specific details. Contact us here letting us know you want to join the Cecil Sharp House Permablitz.
